Okay, so NaNo is done (YAY, won!) & Christmas shopping is finally done (whoo-frakkin-hoo!) and now I've gone back to writing my rather lengthy Jericho fanfic
x_afterburn_x. It's going quite well actually & that surprises me since FF is not usually the kingdom in which I reign.
Anywho, I hope to sit down & write today. I'm restricting my Twitter time & doing my best to find some time to read.
And speaking of reading, no one laugh at me... I'm reading the Twilight series. Yeah, I know. I'm not obsessed or enthralled, so let me just say that & get it out of the way. Basically, I broke down & bought them all because family members had been harassing me and I simply couldn't avoid this thing any longer. That I've relented has at least had the benefit of silencing them so it's already a mitzvah! ;) I've no plan on seeing the movie (though I do adore Peter Facinelli) for a good many reasons, chief among them the knowledge that I won't be able to view with my eyes rolled back in my head, but whatev.
And also, I really find the looks of the leads... off-putting. Now granted, I'm a grownup, so I don't expect to be panting over anyone who'd play Edward on screen but Robert Pattinson just isn't what I consider to be aesthetically good looking enough for a vampire. And did I mention that I didn't even know who the hell he was for a start (no, I'm not up on my HP... adult w/o children here). To be fair, I'm still holding onto my ideal of Louis in Interview With The Vampire as my personal standard (Brad Pitt should be brunette more often, IMO) so it'd be really hard to convince me. But there have to be guys out there that are young enough and have that whole vampiric flawless & painful beauty thing down.
The pick for Bella, I suppose works for me on some level. She's supposed to be unremarkable, right? Score. And the rest of the cast looks okay to me. I guess at the end of the day, I'm just happier with my ideas of the characters from reading the books. It's happened before & I'm sure will happen again.
Besos! xoxo
